Philadelphia-based, non-binary singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist Charlie D'Ardenne is known by their moniker Comprador. According to Oxford University Press, a comprador is a "person who acts as an agent for foreign organizations engaged in investment, trade, or economic or political exploitation.” While Comprador began as a trio in 2013 Ohio, including changing bassists and drummer Aaron Collins, Charlie remains, continuing as a solo project.
Previously, Comprador released “Good Vibrations” in January. Now, they have returned with not only a new single, “No Dice,” but fifth album Please Stay Off the Statue, releasing on May 16. This twelve track album “addresses familiar rock demons like alienation, inadequacy, doubt, and alcoholism.”
No Dice
Comprador never fails to impress listeners with their music. For anyone who has gone through a relationship that was inevitably ill-fated, “No Dice” will especially resonate. The angsty lyrics and instrumental, consisting of guitar riffs, especially give a moody vibe that will make ‘90s-00s kids nostalgic.
Charlie explained the origin of “No Dice:”
“I originally sort of wrote as a potential Best Bear song. The instrumental wasn't dramatically different and it had nonsense placeholder lyrics (though I think the title was in the first version). Nobody else ended up writing words for it so I kept chipping away at it myself.”
They continued,
“The lyrics eventually became about noticing someone's red flags before deciding to enter into a relationship with them regardless, & making an analogy between that and gambling.... recognizing the outcome will most likely be bad but betting on the chance that it isn't. Musically I think it kind of emulates Dinosaur Jr and Bob Mould's band Sugar."
Comprador is celebrating the release of their new album 'Please Stay Off the Statue' with a live performance at PhilaMOCA in Philadelphia on May 16.
K Fuse would like to think Kaylee at No Earbuds for the opportunity to share Comprador's exciting journey with our readers!

Filled with the bright energy of youth, K-Pop group CRAVITY return with their 7th mini album, EVERSHINE. This mini album encapsulates the passion love of youth, marking another chapter in CRAVITY's explosive growth. In the quiet of nightfall, the beauty of the afterglow is revealed, reminding us that even in darkness, there's a promise of a brighter sunrise. Following their successful first world tour, KCON LA performance, and official debut in Japan, CRAVITY showcases a more distinct color than ever before, pouring out raw emotions in their latest musical offering. Named by Grammy.com as a "K-Pop Boy Group To Watch," 2024 is poised to be their best year yet!
Even with a debut in the middle of the pandemic, CRAVITY has shown an immense growth since their debut album as SEASON 1. [HIDEOUT: REMEMBER WHO WE ARE] caused a wave of intrigue and excitement here in the states with mentions in PAPER Magazine, Access, iHeart, J-14, MTV News, Earmilk, Teen Vogue, and Rolling Stone who referred to their title track as:
"An anthemic track from the K-Pop rookies that combines 808-style riffs with the melodic sensibilities of early 2000's boybands (extended dance break included)."
"Though the group is still up-and-coming and developing their sound, they have begun to define their artistry and make their mark on the industry. Their work on "Gas Pedal" proves just that, and more."
-MTV
Since their debut, CRAVITY have marked their relentless movement, sweeping rookie of the year awards at various music awards ceremonies in Korea. CRAVITY received the name "Super Rookie," due to the success of their debut album, which hit No. 1 on the U.S. @iTunes Top K-Pop Albums chart, making them the first #Kpop rookie group to debut in 2020 to earn this achievement. Additionally, the group made a splash on social media shortly after their first ablum, debuting at No. 12 on Billboard's Social 50 chart; making them the fifth-fastest South Korean group to enter Social 50. As we progress through the years, their success within the industry continues to thrive, with Variety naming them an
"Up-and-Coming Group to Know"
in 2022, and Forbes recognizing them as
"ones to watch."
Starship Entertainment's nine-member boy group consisting of members Serim, Allen, Jungmo, Woobin, Wonjin, Minhee, Hyeongjun, Taeyoung, and Seongmin made their debut on April 14, 2020. The insipiration behind the name, CRAVITY, came to fruition through the combination of "Creativity" and "Gravity" and has been Starship Entertainment's new boy band for the first time in five years since Monsta X.
The group name is also an acronym for "Center of Gravity," which is meant to attract, and gravitate, listeners into their unique universe, by pulling them in with their creativity, charm, and pure talent. CRAVITY continues to pull listeners in with their latest focus track, "Love or Die," as it epitomizes their signature energetic vibe with its fast-paced drum and bass rhythm. As the song's mood intensifies, listeners can feel the strong determination of
"I'd rather die than live without love,"
showcasing the members' heightened confidence and dedication to their love. The accompanying music video intensifies the members' journey for love. It shows that despite all the setbacks we may experience throughout the different moments of youth we may experience through the process and become able to face furture challenges. After experiencing love, persisting through trials and overcoming different emotions and pain, we can welcome a new sun. EVERSHINE is the vivid story of CRAVITY's present and future.
Each track in EVERSHINE offers a unique experience, from the pop-infused "C'est La Vie" to the psychedelic rock sounds of "Worst Thriller," to the bright vocals of "Cherry Blossom." Focus track "Love or Die," which members Serim and Allen participated in writing, is complimented by a perfect blend of various genres like rock and EDM; capturing the explosive youth and the most passionate moments of life's brightest era. "Mr.," a heavy EDM track fit for a festival or club, not only has Serim and Allen as co-writers on it, but also WJSN's very own EXY. "Over & Over," a track not only co-written by Allen, but also produced, closes out the album with its fresh guitar and heavy bass, expressing the heartfelt desire to go back to the past in order to hold onto the precious relationship.

Female powerhouse, AleXa kicks of 2024 with the release of her highly anticipated single, "sick" just a few short weeks ahead of her 'sick of you' U.S. Tour. This track marks a pivotal moment in AleXa' career, following her history-making performances at iHeart Radio's Jingle Ball as the first solo Korean artist in December. Notably, AleXa exclusively performed "sick" during Jingle Ball and on The Kelly Clarkson Show before its official release date, offering a sneak peek into her new era of artistic expression.

In 2020, AleXa inked a deal with ICM Partners, home ot an all-star roster of award-winning artist including Nicki Minaj and Khalid, to set a global debut in motion. AleXa is also set to make her acting debut ont eh second season of Neflix's chart-topoing horror anthology series, "Goedam."
AleXa has been on a fast-paced upward trajectory here in the U.S. where she performed the National Anthem to nearly 50,000 fans at Los Angeles' iconic Dodgers Stadium in 2022, and went on to tell out thtree fan-meeting stops during her first U.S> visit in September. Going on to clinch a win at the 2021 Asia Artist Awards, one of the most celebrated award shows in Korea, the Oklahoma-born star also become the first K-Pop artist to host a fan-meeting event in the metaverse -- attracting thousands of fans for a party in a special arena built inside of first-person shooter game Scavengers. AleXa's NBC American Song Contest Win in 2022 took the world by storm with coverage from Billboard, iHeart, People, E!, BBC, Insider, Cosmopolitan, and more; along iwth signing to UTA.
Previously named by Elle as an artist who's "breaking the mold of the typical K-Pop star;" AleXa's song "Wonderland"earned a resounding win on NBC's American Song Contest in 2022, a remadke of Europe's hugely popular Eurovision Song Contest. "Wonderland" ranked #38 on Billboard's Pop Airplay Chart, propelling AleXa to the 6th most played Korean artist on U.S. Radio, and the first female Korean act to present at the 2022 Billboard Music Awards
In 2022, September of 2022, AleXa and tour promoter, Studio PAV, announced AleXa's 'First Meet & Live Tour in U.S.' to be held that October. AlTrooper -- the name of AleXa's fandom -- was sure to attend and show their love and support as the sang along with every song, and cheered for the incredibly captivating artist throughout the entire tour! With the announcement of her 2nd U.S. tour with Studio PAV -- 'sick of you' -- fans have been eagerly awaiting for this new drop! Her new single, "sick," delves into the complexities of a toxic relationship, exploring the inner turmoil of oneside lacking self-love while feeling underserving of the seemingly perfect partner. AleXa poignantly expresses the universal struggel fo being blinede by rose-tinted glasses while in love, being unable to fully embrace the love bestowed upon oneself due to low self-worth, creating an interesting narrative.
Throughout the accompanying music video, AleXa is fighting with this version o her boyfriend that she used to put on a pedastal. The climax of the video, where she metaphorically battles and "kills" the idealized version of her boyfriend, signifies her liberation fro the toxic influence and her determination to move forward independently. "sick" thus serves as a poignant reminder of the strenght inherent in self-discovery and the pursuit of healthy love.
Unlike any of her previous singles isnce her 2019 debut, "sick" sees AleXa embracing her early 2000's pop-punk roots, drawing inspiration from iconic artists like Avril Lavigne. This evolution in her sound reflects a bold and authentic exploration of he musical identity, settign the stage for what promises to be a remarkable chapter in her career. Speaking about this transformative phase. AleXa shares,
"This era of my career feels like the most authentic version of myself. 'sick' is a departure from my previous releases, and I'm excited to share a side of me that is deeply connected to my pop-punk influences."

After four months, Jellyfish Entertainment's rookie boy-group, EVNNE,(https://www.instagram.com/evnne_official/) has made their very first comeback with their second mini album titled, “Un: SEEN.” The group was created from MNET's survival show, “Boys Planet,” and consists of members Keita, Park Hanbin, Lee Jeonghyeon, Yoo Seungeon, Ji Yunseo, Mun Junghyun, and maknae Park Jihoo. The seven member ensemble made their official debut on September 19, 2023 with mini album "Target: ME" -- featuring fan favorite title track, "TROUBLE.(https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wYk3SFL6Wss)"
Similar to their debut album “Un: SEEN” includes similar beats and composition style -- which only solidifies the rookie's authentic sound. This album starts off strong with title track, “Ugly.(https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GxUKnlPDeak)” In this track we hear electronic sounds accompanied with strong rap and vocals that help set the vibe for the rest of the album. Similar to EVNNE'(https://evnne.jp/)s first title track, "Ugly" resonates with listeners with lyric like, "even if I'm not perfect, I love," to encourage them to let look while radiating confidence and one’s self expression.
We are greeted by the next track, “Syrup,” with a harsher beat than the first and strong rapping from the group's leader -- Keita -- before the song transitions into a fun chorus. EVNNE (https://twitter.com/EVNNE_official)has once again been able to showcase their songwriting capabilities and talents as Keita, Ji Yunseo, and Lee Jeonhyeon contributed to the the lyrics for this track. This song serves as a metaphor for desire -- which can be heard the lyrics, “Bad, bad, bad taste. Addicted you chase,” which helps to convey the underlying the message of being addicted to something “sweet” (such as syrup) and not being able to get away.
The third track, “K.O. (Keep On)," tells a happy and positive story along with it's fun and funky beats. Although this anthem-like song seems to have been created to be too short, the members ensure that they convey a very concise message to teir listeners -- Keep striving towards your goals, and never give up. This song serves as a light to many of its listeners while providing encouragement to keep moving forward.
EVNNE (https://www.youtube.com/@EVNNE)takes a moment to slow things down with their next trakc, "Chase," as they transition into a slower R&B vibe. As you listen to this track, you can hear the vocal excellence of the rook group along with another transition to a more traditional hip hop sound as the song progresses. Once again, we get to see the creativity, capabilities and talents of the members as Yoo Seungeon and Keita take part in lyric writing. The song talks about fantasies and how the members are falling deeper into a trap set by someone they are interested in.
“Festa,” the final song of EVNNE (https://www.tiktok.com/@evnne_official)second mini-album, presents listeners with an upbeat and happy sound that reminds you of as if celebrating a happy ending, or celebrating an achievement of reaching your goal. This time, leader Keita was credited with lyric writing as well as composition. As you listen to this song, you are taken through the joyous and fun-filled emotions of a relationship. Lyrics such as, “Sing all day, play this song,” helps to create the positivity and happiness of a relationship as if they are at a festival every day.
Although EVNNE (https://www.mnetplus.world/c/evnne)are still rookies, they continue to prove how hard working they are and how ready they are to make noise with their catchy lyrics, strong rap, skillful vocals, and fun beats.
BE SURE TO FOLLOW EVNNE (https://www.instagram.com/evnne_official/)ON SOCIAL MEDIA TO STAY-UP-TO-DATE ON FUTURE ACTIVITIES, COMEBACKS, AND ANNOUNCEMENTS!

Let's See The Lineup
Adding to ATEEZ'(https://www.instagram.com/ateez_official_?igsh=OGRvOWk3MjJmODJs)s already impressive list of accomplishments, awards, and, recognitions -- ATEEZ is making history as the first K-Pop boygroup to perform at Coachella. ATEEZ has started 2024 with soldout concerts in Seoul and Japan on top of preparing for their 3rd Japanese comeback on February 28th. As the 8-member team embarks on more tour stops, they are anticipated to continue to tour into 2025. With their latest full length album, “The World Ep. Fin: Will,'' charting at No.1 on the Billboard 200 album charts, it clearly shows ATEEZ continues to gain global popularity, and undeniable reasoning for why they were chosen to perform at Coachella 2024.
Five-member Hybe girl group LE SSERAFIM (https://www.instagram.com/le_sserafim?igsh=bDE2ejQ4Mno3MXM2)will also be making their highly anticipated debut at Coachella -- making them the second K-Pop girl group to perform at Coachella following Blackpink. Despite only debuting 18 months ago, these girls have stayed at the top of the charts. Their most recent English single “Perfect Night,” hit number one on Melon’s real-time chart -- as well as topping the Circle Digital Chart. The performance is a milestone for the group, as it is the first festival they have performed at in the United States.

On December 23, BL actors Mos and Bank held a Christmas themed online fan meeting where they discussed Christmas traditions, played games, and interacted with fans. The fan meeting started off discussing Christmas treats before shifting into the pair talking about their 2024 plans. Mos started off the conversation by saying that there will be “a lot of surprises,” and Bank wished that fans would support a new series that he will be in and that it will show a cuter side, as opposed to that of “Big Dragon.”
Throughout the fan meeting, the pair played many different games to engage with the fans with the first one being the “post-it note” game. During this game, one of the players would cover their eyes with a blindfold while the other would cover themselves in post-it notes. The blindfolded player would then make an attempt to find the post-it notes that are on the other. While Bank made an attempt to be sneaky, Mos was able to find all of the the post-it notes on Bank. Mos ended up victorious as he used sneaky tactics by placing one post-it not under his shirt and then placing one that fell onto his hand where Bank had already retrieved a different post-it. The fan meeting continued with more games such as “Sing or Song” where the pair had to guess Christmas songs and “My Christmas List,” in which Mos and Bank had to guess one of the time five gifts that the other had on their Christmas lists. Fans were able to feel the connection between the Mos and Bank during this game as they would begin a streak of correct answers and detailed reasons why. The stakes for this game were higher, as Mos and Bank we playing to help 10 lucky viewers win exclusive Big Dragon merchandise!
As Mos and Bank captivated the audience with their undeniable chemistry, joyful laughs, and sweet vocals, the final segment of the fanmeet was upon us. While many fans submitted questions, BeLoved Entertainment could only select a few at random for the pair to answer. The pair had the opportunity to answer fun questions before answering more serious ones where they told their fans that if they are having a hard time then they can go to their channel to feel better and that no matter what happens to remember that “it is just a bad day and not a bad life.” Another fan had asked if there was anything they wanted to try together or solo. Bank said that he would like to do a fantasy or magical theme such as Harry Potter so that he could disappear and as he answered, he cutely disappeared off screen. Mos said that he wants to try a superhero theme or a character with a sweet and warm personality. The pair gave a spoiler by saying that there was a scene from their previous works that was not shown on screen and that they may upload it at another time for the fans to enjoy. They also took time to talk about places they would like to visit such as California to see their, and Canada because they would like to see snow. Sadly, it was time for the pair to say their goodbyes and still warmly expressed their deepest gratitude to all of their fans!
2024 seems to be an exciting year for Mos and Bank as they prepore more content that their fans will surely love!
