NCT 127 stopped by the Lone Star State in the beautiful and historic city of San Antonio on March 9th for the 9th stop of the North American leg of their tour NCT: The Momentum. The weather was perfect for fans waiting outside the Frost Bank Arena located minutes away from downtown San Antonio. To pass the time, NCTzens, the name given to fans of the group, gathered outside to exchange freebies and take photos.

As fans eagerly made their way to their seats, the anticipation in the air was undeniable. With each passing moment, they connected their lightsticks, transforming the arena into a breathtaking sea of vibrant green that set the stage for an unforgettable night ahead. The atmosphere shifted dramatically as the highly anticipated opening song, "Gas,” began to resonate throughout the venue. The stage was gradually enveloped in swirling smoke, while captivating blue lights illuminated the performers, creating an ethereal backdrop. The fans erupted in cheers, their voices harmonizing with the music as Mark, Yuta, Haechan, Doyoung, Jungwoo, and Johnny took center stage. Each member showcased their extraordinary talents, delivering powerful raps and executing intricate choreography with remarkable precision, demonstrating their readiness and enthusiasm for the performance ahead. The energy in the arena was intense and loud -- so loud that after the first segment of their setlist, Johnny humorously remarked that he had to request the sound team to increase the volume in his in-ear monitors to better immerse himself in the experience. They continued to enthrall the audience with a carefully curated selection of fan-favorite tracks, generating high-energy cheers from the crowd, especially during the performances of "2 Baddies” and "Designer.” The members crafted a delightful narrative throughout “Designer,” transforming the stage into a playful scene adorned with mannequins. They engaged with each other and the audience, swapping jackets and playfully interacting, which added a layer of charm and connection to the performance.

While in Texas, the members took a moment to share their experiences of exploring the city and indulging in its well-known barbecue cuisine. Jungwoo excitedly recalled their visit to Pinkerton's BBQ, a highly-recommended establishment nestled in the heart of downtown San Antonio. The group expressed their delight in indulging in the mouthwatering pulled pork sandwich and tender brisket that the restaurant is famous for, savoring the local flavors that made their visit even more memorable. As they transitioned to the next part of their setlist, the group delivered an exhilarating mashup of two long-awaited songs, "Whiplash” and "Lemonade." The crowd enthusiastically sang along during “Whiplash,” while the members donned stylish yet simple outfits of crisp white button-ups paired with eye-catching jackets, adding to the overall visual appeal of the performance.
Taking a brief moment to connect with their fans, the members shared their delightful adventures exploring the iconic San Antonio River Walk. They discovered that a Six Flags amusement park was situated not far from the city, and Haechan's eyes sparkled with excitement at the mention of the theme park, promising that they would return for a thrilling day of rides and fun. As the concert progressed, they shifted to a more emotional tone, performing their softer songs, "Can't Help Myself” and "Gold Dust." The main vocalists, Doyoung and Jungwoo, captivated the audience with their heartfelt and touching vocals, evoking a deep emotional response from the fans. The crowd swayed gently, their lightsticks creating a mesmerizing wave of light that enhanced the emotional atmosphere. As the night drew to a close, the group performed their powerful closing songs, “Dreams Come True” and "Promise You,” while actively engaging with their devoted fans, tossing signed plastic balls into the audience as cherished keepsakes from the night. To commemorate their visit to San Antonio, the members sported customized Spurs jerseys, each adorned with their names on the back, adding a personal touch to the evening. During their heartfelt closing remarks, the members expressed their wishes for fans to take care of themselves and to eagerly anticipate their next tour.
